It had one long horn and one big eye

Just for [livejournal.com profile] marjory, and any other fans of train-wreck needlework, I present a photograph of the purple bag. Just to make absolutely sure that the child in question learns to despise his mother's friends, I've added a jaunty purple hat to go with it.

If nothing else, it will give his parents plausible deniability when they abandon him in a blackberry patch.

Things made of purple fleece are very hard to photograph in artificial light, you know.

Today, Mr Sainsbury had on special offer cartons of fruit juice which describe themselves as "mojito without the rum". I brought one home out of interest, where Frances and I judiciously, carefully and immediately added the rum back into it. Waiting in the fridge is "cosmopolitan without the vodka".

The missing-vital-ingredient mojito stuff is quite nice even just over ice on its own.

It is also bizarrely good when used as a mixer with Midori. Not least because the combination virtually *glows* - seriously: luminously Simpsons-radioactive bright green! Even if you don't want to drink it, it's worth remembering for any time you need to costume as a mad scientist! ;)

Wow! Can I get one? (bunting, that is... not into girlie drinks...)

ditto- looks incredibly snuggly and warm.
Last year there was a bit of a phenomena for blankets with arms to be worn whilst video gaming late at night on the sofa but the company making them had too much demand and shut down..dunno the link..but always a market option..
Prehaps if the hat went more mongolian style with added dangly ear flaps to chew it'd be more popular..get back the regressive oral sensation thing too?!

Well done though..I'd love a baby of mine to have that to snuggle in!

http://www.theslanket.com/ - I liked the idea, but they seemed terribly expensive. Shouldn't be hard to make, though.

I'll investigate the options of scaling up the bunting pattern to big-size, though :)

they look well easy to make! a big bit of fleece with a tube attached at appropriate arm level, i'm all over it.

Ooo-er! Don't think you'll ever be forgiven for the purple hat!

Looks similar to a style fashionable around the late Tudor period. I think. I've definately seen hats that hang similarly in period costumes, I'm just not certain of the date. Someone near the V&A might be able to confirm.

It looks a little like a badly staged 'ghost' photo :-).
