Last weekend saw me, with Mabel Gubbins, at the annual Lamb Ale held by Kirtlington Morris. As events go, it's rubbish for a rapper team. There are two pubs in the village, neither of which will let us inside to dance, so we do a lot of scuffing about on concrete. However! It's a grand social occasion, we get to see lots of other teams and generally hang out and eat lots of nice food.

It's Friday! It's about three o'clock! It's time to Boogie At Your Desk!

You what? )

If you like the track, go out and buy the album it belongs to - I'll try and recommend a suitable CD to purchase for any BAYD track.

The link to the mp3 will expire at some point in the future.

Today you are invited to Boogie At Your Desk to:

Radio 4 - Enemies Like This [link to mp3 download expired, or YouTube link may still be active]

I met Radio 4 by accident... wow, nearly 8 years ago (they were a headline band, I was there to see the support). And I'm slighttly surprised to find that we've never boogied to them.

Anyway. They are a New York band, with spikey guitars[*] and drums. Lots, and lots of drums. Recorded, they don't have the hugely overwhelming effect that they have live, but they've still got an enjoyably driving sound. If Enemies Like This is a bit poundy for you, try the gentler Grass is Greener instead.

Looking at Wikipedia, it seems they haven't released anything since 2006's Enemies Like This, which is a bit of a shame. They are not defunct, allegedly, but they don't seem terribly funct either.

[*] I'm sure with some suitably ropey amps there's a Feedback from Radio 4 joke to be had somewhere.
