Save the last dance for me
Dec. 30th, 2005 02:55 pmIt's Friday! It's about three o'clock! It's time to Boogie At Your Desk!
( You what? )
Today you were invited to Boogie At Your Desk to:
Shed 3 The Killers - Mr. Brightside
Some time ago, I received an mp3 via email for a (then practically unknown) song. I liked it immensely, and found myself Boogying whilst sitting at my office desk. Often, I would look up to find
ach glaring at me over the top of his notebook screen. "You", he would say, in tones of great contempt, "are bopping again". Thus was the idea of BAYD born.
The mp3 was of Mr Brightside. Later, when I'd bought the album and Shed 3 had spilled all over the music press, I found myself Boogying with equal pleasure to Somebody Told Me. The album, Hot Fuss, is actually a bit of a fillerfest, but I think it's worth it for those two songs alone.
Now, while I don't expect that I'm liable to stop posting mp3s, this is the last of the weekly BAYD posts. I missed three Fridays this year, making this the 49th.
I expect BAYD will still pop up for special occasions - Christmas, a particularly good upcoming gig, the anniversary of the Queen's accession and so on. However, I hope you've all grown, become better people, and have learnt how to Boogie At Your Desks; you shouldn't need me to provide your Top Tunes any more.
If anybody is interested, here's the complete list of songs provided for Boogying At Desks throughout this year:
( Week by week... )
Thanks to all those who've expressed interest in the BAYD tracks, those who've commented on them and especially those who actually went and bought albums as a result :)
