We're jammin'

OK, some time ago I proposed a photo competition. Few people entered. Subsequently, I invited people to vote on the winners. Even fewer people voted. Accordingly, I assumed no one was that interested and intended to let the whole thing slide. However, some people have persisted in wanting to know what's going on with it.

So, LJ, now is your chance to vote with your feet. Or your mouse buttons. Or whatever. If you're interested in photo competitions, go and vote for the winners - if you're not, keep quiet and we'll let the thing die with dignity.

Entries are listed on the photo competition page. Votes should specify something along the lines of:

- your top three photographs (judged on them just being jolly nice pictures)
- your top three interpretations (judged on the picture fitting the lyric it represents)

... and should be sent to me, venta at livejournal dot com.

Irrelevantly, I also have a question:

Does anyone have a tried-and-tested recipe for low-sugar jam ? Yes, I know, low-sugar jam is an abomination unto God, and completely defeats the purpose of jamming fruit. However, I understand that diabetics can't always take such a hard line. So... anyone ever tried making it ?

No, since you ask, I haven't just bought shares in Pectin.

Only last night I sat down thinking I really should vote. But I found my choices became somewhat arbitrary so I didn't submit anything.

Damson jam is supposed to work just by putting the stones in a muslin bag and boiling with the fruit, but I've not tried it myself. My mum uses Certo pectin, which seems to work well.

I've been somewhat distracted by the process of moving, so haven't had a chance to look at everyone elses pictures. Hope it doesn't die 'cos I rather enjoy having reasons to take pictures.
