Photo Competition

Saturday was the deadline for the photo competition. And, I have to say, entries have this time not exactly been pouring in. Full marks to those who have sent me one or more photos, a conciliatory nod to those who provided notes from their mums (or similar) explaining why they wouldn't be entering, and to the rest... where are you ?

Honestly, people whine for months that they want another competition, then don't submit any pictures. So:

I procrastinated, then I went round and took photos for many of the topics, but I was utterly unsatisfied by the results. Given more time, I might submit some pictures.

I really did meant to enter, but I never quite got round to it, because I am rubbish. Unfortunately I don't think I can promise that I would be less rubbish in the near future if you extended the deadline.

I also suspect my photos would not be good enough to be worth waiting for anyway, so, er.

I think the word I'm looking for is "meh". And sorry.

I vote for both of:

- I would have done, but the topics for photography didn't appeal or inspire.

- Er, kind of, not really ready yet, can I have more time?

which just goes to prove I am unimaginative and disorganised.

I pressed for this competition so I am indeed useless. If you do extend the deadline I promise I will make an effort to come up with something!

The rules weren't as memorable as the last competition, and well thc thought it was too much hassle, and when I had a camera on me I couldn't remember the categories.

I ended up taking one bad picture.

Yesterday I wielded a camera for the first time in about three years. I took a photo of my fridge. Am I allowed to submit fridge photos for this competition? If so, I'd love to enter, provided I can get the fridge out of my camera. And I'm allowed a handicap for camera-ineptitude.

The competition is to take photos to fit the specified lyrics. If you can do so in such a way that a fridge is involved, then go for it ;)

I shall look forward to a fridge-based entry.

The image is actually close-up on a sentence made out of fridge magnets, and I was hoping it could go with the Suede quote ("Pornographic and tragic in black and white.")

the dmh comment makes me think of a random 80s American deadpan comedian whose name I've forgotten who used to do a sketch about being stuck in his house during a power cut with only a camera for company.
