Today's game: what is the single scariest entity you can create from horror-film clichés ?

Frances' and my first pass attempt was: A clown-faced ventriloquist's doll which follows you around very slowly while singing nursery rhymes in a childish voice.

Scarier offers welcome. But remember! Too many clichés and you're into comedy territory :)

Nope, I think you've got the critical entries in there.

Although possibly carrying a hockey-mask covered head and a battered old hat might me the finishing touches.

Nah, it's slow, but it still catches up with you. That's why it's scary :)

You never seen films where a shambling mummy easily outruns a sprinting person ?

Jumping vampires.
That is all :-)

Ummm... How about a possessed chainsaw that was built in a ramshackle old house without a telephone, situated on top of a Native American burial ground in the Carpathian Mountains?

How about a clown-faced venriloquist's dummy that isn't seen to move but always seems to be on a shelf opposite your bed with a different weapon in its hand each time, and doesn't make any noises except for a horrible graty squeaky bubbly noise, and then the spirit of the young female ventriloquist crawls out of its mouth and crawls up to you and scares you to death with a look?

The worrying thing is, that film probably exists.

Heh. It's probably called "Chukiko's Rage".

A female ballerina Japanese clown in a hockey mask who appears as bloodstains on the wall before arranging for innocent household items to brutally cut your head off while ghostly whistling of Belgian showtunes rings out of the taps and drains.

Of course I may have got silly somewhere in all that. :)
