I've often heard people say that you can get a lot more stuff into a tidy drawer than a messy drawer. People - maybe you're one of them - claim that their clothes fit into drawers or cupboards much better after tidying.
I don't care how many people say it. It's just not true.
Today (among other terribly exciting things) I have emptied out my chest of drawers and my wardrobe. Both were stuffed full. I've retired an armful of things which I rarely wear but wish to keep to a box on top of the wardrobe. I have a pile which is nearly up to my hip of things which are heading to a charity shop some time soon.
My drawers and wardrobe are now nicely tidy. But they're still full.
Either this idea that tidy cupboards contain more is just come sort of conspiratorial lie, or I've discovered my super-power. I'd always hoped it'd be flying, or the ability to bend spoons with my eyes or something. But no. It's the ability to ram more than anyone else could into a drawer.
