Lucky dip report #1:

Shivaree - I Close My Eyes

I feel slightly conned here, because this CD is only a single, with two different mixes of I Close My Eyes on it.

Only slightly, though, because it is at least a good song. The label on the back of the box suggests that a magazine described the track as "deliciously dirty swing" and yup, that sounds reasonable to me.

It was released on 16/5, but fails to tell me which year. And apparently comes from the album Who's Got Trouble on Zoë records. There, now you know as much as I do.

I've got a couple of Shivaree albums. Radcliffe played Goodnight Moon a few times, so I got that album, and then their second one was going cheap a while later.

Indeed so. I find it hard to believe that was her original name, though. Nobody's got a name that good.
