If you really want I can name the names
I have been a good child and written letters to my relatives this evening. However, while sitting on the bed writing, I was struck by inspiration. Accordingly, here is a quick and dirty music quiz.
Dirty ? Well, not actually grubby or seedy. Quick and dirty is, in this case, a euphemism for "I couldn't be bothered to spend the time taking better photos".
This follows on from various album-cover quizzes. There are many famous album covers (Sgt. Pepper or London Calling feature often in quizzes, with band and album names airbushed out). But often CDs themselves have notable designs, or the back of an album will be as memorable as the front. I don't own any Beatles albums, but can confirm that the actual CD of London Calling is very dull. Hardly surprising, really, given that it wasn't designed to be on a CD.
Below are eight photos of either sleevenotes or CDs (or sometimes both), all of which I consider to be distinctive.
Browsing through my record shelves looking for likely candidates has brought home to me that I don't own many albums which I consider to be the sort you could rely on other people being familiar with. I feel this is your fault for not being familiar with the right albums.
In all the below photos, the mysterious blue background is my duvet, and is not significant of anything very much.
One point for the artist, one for the album for each question. Anyone getting a maximum of sixteen without cheating will surprise me immensely. Anyone getting half marks will frankly probably surprise me :)

Ah well, I'm only an amateur muso, me.

There's a very slim chance that my record collection is not the be-all and end-all of musical taste ;)
Your comment against your answer for number two is a fair cop.

I know I recognise the 5th one (the face one) but I looked up on Amazon the group/artist I thought it might be and it's not that. As for the others, I haven't a clue, so:
An instantly recognisable CD
You lie!
I think everyone in the world owns this album
Maybe mine is the US version with a different cover. Or something.
If you can't at least guess the band for this one, then this quiz probably isn't for you.
I'll get me coat.

You know how I said that No Good Would Come of your habit of mp3-ing CDs and putting the discs away in the attic ?

I reckon I own five of those, and can get a sixth, I want to know what the others are. Great quiz.
