List 5 things you do when alone that relax you completely; then tag 5 people and have them post their five things in their journal.
I appear to have been tagged by
kneeshooter.
I read Kneeshooter's post, and instantly scribbled down a list:
1. Reading
2. Having a bath
3. Spodding - mucking about with AudioForge, Potatoshop, email or on LJ
4. Pilates
5. Just sitting
Then I realised that Kneeshooter had included "cycling" in his list. Now, there are things like that that I might enjoy, but I guess they're not what I think of as "relaxing". To me, relaxing things are quiet things, gentle things to make a counterpoint to running about doing Stuff.
I would say that, in general, I don't get stressed often. I don't much feel the need to "relax". But I am often busy, and I often find that I've been out doing Stuff several nights running, and want a nice quiet evening in to regroup. Which I'd usually describe as wanting some time to "relax". Time to stand and stare, as it were.
I suppose there are quiet forms of activity which I might do by myself - like lurking round with a camera, looking for things to pounce on - which could certainly be thought of as relaxing. But really, that's not what the word means to me. I'm unsure if this means that I'm so terribly tense I can only relax in a very few ways, or so beautifully well-balanced and centred that I rarely stand in need of relaxation.
