Turns out that you were right to take a taxi to the station rather than accept a lift from me. I managed to turn the 4 minute drive to Mr Foleys' along a route I already knew into a 3/4 hour trip twice around Leeds before finding a spot I recognised (almost as far from the pub as when I started out), abandoned the car and walked the rest of the way. If I hadn't had Sally in the car on the way back, I'd still stuck on the Leeds ring road! Gods alone know where we'd have ended up if I'd tried to drive to the station...
