Happy to confirm that one eats sushi with ones fingers. Or at least, that's how my Japanese host father taught me to eat it many, many years ago. If you go into a sushi bar in New York that's frequented by Japanese and eat with your fingers, the only folks who look askance at you are New Yorkers.
